First Class Migration Support

School District 57 will no longer be using First Class as an email client. Existing email addresses for staff (ending with @sd57.bc.ca) were transitioned over to Office 365 Outlook on July 18, 2020.

If you wish to keep emails, contacts, and calendars from First Class, you must save them.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I need to move everything over to Office 365 Outlook?

For active emails, forward them to Outlook. Any archived emails that you want to keep, you can save. See the tutorial links at the top of this page for instructions.

2. Will my login to Office 365 change from what it was in June?

Yes. Your new login uses the email address ending @sd57.bc.ca but all of your content will remain the same.

3. What about my email address that ends with @sd57learn.com?

That was a temporary email address set up so we could have First Class and Office 365 Outlook work at the same time. Your Outlook received emails for both addresses from July 18th to September 30th, then the @sd57learn.com address was deactivated and will no longer work for new emails.

4. What about student accounts on Office 365?

Transition of student accounts is happening now with teacher support. Secondary is complete and elementary is in progress.

5. Can my email folders be transferred to Outlook?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. You can either forward each email individually or export them as text files.

6. Can I set up apps on my home and/or work computer to connect and synchronize files with my Office 365 account?

Currently, our Office 365 access is through a web browser only, because of privacy concerns. We will be reviewing and testing apps and options for syncing Office 365 to hard drives during the 2020-21 school year.

7. What should I do if I forget my Office 365 account password?

Self-serve password reset functionality has been activated. If you chose not to provide an alternate email address or phone number, please submit an Office 365 Help Desk Ticket and someone will get back to you with password reset information.
